Souvenir of Canada

We went to see Douglas Coupland's Souvenir of Canada the other night; we felt we should!! It was ace, a very interesting docufilm, about his experiences being Canadian, what it is to be Canadian, and his builing of Canada House - a house he filled with works of art and sculpture that were 'Canadian'. I wondered if we'd understand it, and some bits were a little too Canadian fo us, but most of it we did, and i realised just how much Canada, especially Vancouver is now a part of us, and always will be. It also made me want to find out what it means to be British, English, East Anglican, from Ipswich. It is nice to have a sense of what it is that makes you who you are. I left the cinema feeling strangely patriotic! xx
